Suzanne Wiggin Exhibition: Person Not Detected

Person Not Detected, a Winterowd Fine Art show featuring two dozen paintings and monotypes by Taos artist Suzanne Wiggin, provides an intimate look into Wiggin’s world. Viewers are invited to join Wiggin in deep appreciation of the magnificent Northern New Mexico landscape that has captured the artist’s heart.

“I came up with the title of my show while photographing and exploring the landscape around Taos,” Wiggin explains. “I set my phone’s camera on Portrait Mode. Since there is no one around, it focuses and locks on to a tree or a horizon and says No Person Detected. I am alone in the open space, and I love it.”

Opening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 24, 2024 and running through June 6, 2024, Person Not Detected celebrates the beauty around Wiggin’s neighborhood and in the surrounding landscape. Wiggin delights in everything from the thriving wild plum trees near her studio to the expansive land and sky that envelopes her property. She takes daily walks with her husband, looking at the color combinations around her and intensely thinking about how to translate what she sees into paint. She relishes every season of the year and every hour of the day because each moment in time offers an exciting visual experience.
