Contemporary Santa Fe Art Gallery on Historic Canyon Road

Lucy Maki earned an MFA, with distinction, from the University of New Mexico.  Maki’s art ranges in scale from large shaped paintings to miniature constructions/wall sculptures, and encompasses a wide variety of processes, including poured paint, metal, wood, mixed media assemblage, and collage. The concern is to treat painting as an image/object, bridging oppositions of concrete/illusory, flat/dimensional, deliberate/accidental, geometric/organic, and or, figurative/abstract to create uniquely contrasting effects and complex imaginative states of being.
