The Mathematica painting is from a series of multiple panel works conceived of as a summary of all Ancient and Modern Mathematical Knowledge. Each panel of this painting represents one Eternal Mathematical Truth which is reflected in Nature and exists apart from Human Consciousness. These truths are aspects of the Universal Matrix which gives rise to the Natural world and to the Human Mind.
“The entire series had its inception in a conversation with my son, Chris Kirby. We were speculating…What could we do to encapsulate The Human Knowledge of our time, in the event another comet or asteroid strike was imminent, like the one which extinguished the dinosaurs? We agreed since Mathematics is The most concentrated symbolic language available to humanity and also underpins our Scientific, Technological, and Industrial Civilization, it would be the language of any “Rosetta Stone” we could create that, were it to survive such an event. It could convey The Knowledge of our time to future ages!
