Jamie Kirkland abstract landscapes exhibition at Winterowd Fine Art

April 9-22, 2010

Jamie Kirkland’s exhibition gets its title and inspiration from the film, Enchanted April, whose heroine stubbornly chooses to root herself in hope. Her life changes in miraculous ways, and the magic spills over, affecting the lives of all those around her.   Jamie states “On an emotional level the season of spring represents this hope for many of us.”

The optimism and magic of these new Jamie Kirkland paintings is undeniable. Spring bursts forth with all of its surprise and beauty and inspiration in these landscape oil paintings. A tree in full pink bloom faces a thawing landscape with dazzling and gentle power. Titillating new growth, mossy and soft, spreads its message of possibility and joy. Atmospheric skies, ponds and rivers sound the notes of spring, perfectly evoking the season’s hope and magic. Pure beauty abounds in these paintings.
