BONNIE SPEAR

Bonnie Spear creates a rich show of color filled, lyrical paintings. Her subject is the New Mexico landscape. These paintings glow and radiate the beauty of this region. Familiar locations such as Pedernal, Ghost Ranch, Rio Grande Valley and the Sangre de Christo Mountain Range are a few of the locations this artist is intrigued with painting. The gesture of Spears brushstroke articulates a living breathing nature, one filled of life and movement infused with light. Bonnie has been painting in New Mexico for over 20 years. You might often find her in Georgia O’Keeffe country painting images of our natural world.

Artist Statement:

Nature is the inspiration for my work. Painting is always a discovery process for me.  Leaving marks with paint and brush at each evolving state allows me to find my personal resolution. My bag is always ready with art materials: paint and paper. I enjoy wandering into the landscape, finding a perfect spot to paint and see what unfolds. I hope the viewer enjoys the journey.
