Blaire Rice Bennett had an exciting art opening last night.  The gallery was packed with admirers of her art along with artist friends & family.  Thank you everyone for attending this engaging art event at Winterowd Fine Art.  It was a joy to host.

Blaire Rice Bennett’s very tactile evocative paintings are made of translucent layers of encaustic wax and pigment. Her’s is often a view from above: earth’s poetic landmasses seen from a satellite’s distant perspective. Mists parting clouds revealing tinted ranges, patinaed plateaus, marbled seas. On other panels light moves through layers of color revealing words and script, a message or perhaps a poem partially revealed. Blaire’s lush paintings look fragrant and one expects them to smell of cumin and cinnamon and sea air.
